A new book by Jeremy Straub · 2027

Wealth alone won't last 100 years.

Families who build strength and virtue, do.

The operating system for families who intend to last longer than their money.

The 100-Year Family by Jeremy Straub, navy hardcover with a gold 100

The shirtsleeves cycle

One founder. Eight great-grandchildren.

Eight households, eight marriages, eight ideas of what the family stands for. By the fourth generation the money is no longer the hard part. The family is.

100% One founder, one vision, and the cost of earning it still in his bones.

The uncomfortable truth

Fortunes rarely fail in the market. They fail at the dinner table.

I.

Trust breaks down

Silence instead of conversation. Unspoken expectations turn into resentment, and resentment turns into lawyers.

II.

Heirs are never prepared

It took the founder decades to learn what they know. The heirs inherit the responsibility in a single day.

III.

No shared mission

If a family's only shared project is money, the family is fragile. A shared asset without a shared identity becomes a shared threat.

“Families don't lose the money first. They lose the ability to be a family. Then the money becomes the battlefield.”

From Chapter Two, The Curse of Only Money

The framework

Most families optimize one capital. Great families design systems for all seven.

I · Money

Financial

Money does not create discipline. Discipline creates money.

II · Strength

Human

You cannot outsource strength. If the people collapse, the dynasty collapses.

III · Strength

Intellectual

Smart families adapt faster than rich families.

IV · Virtue in public

Social

Reputation compounds faster than money, and can vanish in a weekend.

V · The center pillar

Values

Without a compass, power corrupts. Decide who you are before the world decides for you.

VI · Strength + virtue

Experiential

Stories outlive balance sheets. Families who suffer together, thrive together.

VII · The only non-renewable

Time

What you schedule reveals what you worship.

Stories outlive balance sheets.

What stories will your grandchildren tell about you?

What's inside

Each chapter opens inside a dynasty.

First the why: how legacies actually collapse. Then the how: one chapter for each capital, each ending in exercises a family can do that week.

About the author

Jeremy Straub

CEO, Coastal Wealth

Jeremy has spent his career inside the wealth of other families. He has also watched it from the other side: in 2008 his father's car-dealership enterprise, worth around $200 million at its peak, was gone in a shockingly short span of time. Years later, a throat cancer diagnosis at three in the morning made one question unavoidable: what would his kids' lives look like if he weren't here?

He calls himself the bridge generation: raised by one generation, building for three more. This book is the system he built for his own family, and now for yours.

“The real challenge isn't building assets. It's building heirs.”

Questions

When does the book come out?

Mid-2027. Founding Readers hear first and receive Chapter One before then.

Who is it for?

Founders and family leaders, the next generation who will inherit the responsibility, and the advisors who serve them.

Is this a finance book?

No. Money is one of seven capitals, and the book argues it is the most fragile. The rest is about people: governance, preparation, health, rituals and time.

Do I need to be wealthy?

No. You don't need a private jet or a family office to build a 100-year family. You need the truth about why legacies collapse and a plan to start now.

What does joining cost?

Nothing. One email every other week, and you can leave anytime.
